From 30-Year Veterans to First-Timers.
They walked in unsure — and left ready for the exam.
I’m completely new to roofing, no experience at all — and now I feel confident and ready.
100%. It’s worth every penny you put up.
They’re very precise with the materials — they actually explain it to full depth, not just a bunch of information.
Before You Register.
Your licensing education is a lifetime investment. One class to get your license, and your first roof job will pay back the class many times over!
You can try — but the exam tests how questions are asked, not whether you can roof. Self-study means working through thousands of pages alone. Our prep is structured around the actual exam, not the trade in general.
That’s the whole point of the prep. Structured curriculum, practice exams, and materials you keep.
Illinois’ first roofing exam prep course, running since 2010. We’ve prepared students for hundreds of different versions of the exam and we know what actually matters.
PLUS you’ll receive access to: (i) preferred rates to our Public Adjuster, Xactimate®, and Advanced PA courses only we offer, and (ii) services to help you operate your business — like claims & appraisal support, lien filings, and more.
2.5-day Residential or 3-day Unlimited class, complete study guide, PowerPoint notes and practice exams (yours to keep), live in Rosemont or Zoom, coffee & snacks on us. Unlimited retakes for 1 year.
How do I register for the actual Illinois Roofing exam?
After completing our prep, you register directly with Continental Testing Services. The exam fee is $248, paid to Continental Testing. Visit Continental Testing Services here.
How long do I have to take the exam after the class?
The exam is 1 week after our roofing course, so the information will be fresh in your mind before exam day. Plus you get to keep your class materials and hundreds of practice questions to help you study.
Do I qualify for the Residential or Unlimited license?
You can get your Unlimited license on the first exam you take, and that will allow you to legally work on any roof in the state. The Residential license covers solely home roofing work for buildings with fewer than 8 units. Most students pursue the Unlimited license.
What language is the class taught in?
English. Spanish and Polish support is available — we can pair you with the right staff member if English isn’t your first language. Hablamos español · mówimy po polsku.
I have an out-of-state license. Can I convert it?
Illinois doesn’t offer direct reciprocity for roofing licenses. You’ll need to sit the Illinois exam. The prep course works for license-conversion candidates as well as new contractors.
Real Students. Real Classes. Rosemont, IL + Zoom.
Taught by Our Team. In the Room With You.
No pre-recorded modules. Our instructors run the room, answer your questions, and walk you through the parts of the exam contractors actually get wrong.
Small Classes. Real Conversations.
You’re not in a room with 50+ other students. Our students get the attention they need — before, during, and after the class.
