Before You Register.
How do I register for the actual Illinois Roofing exam?
You register directly with Continental Testing Services. The exam fee is $248, paid to Continental Testing. Visit Continental Testing Services here. Give us a call if you have any questions and we’re happy to help get you registered for the exam.
When can I take the exam?
The exam is 1 week after our roofing course, so the information will be fresh in your mind before exam day. Plus you get to keep your class materials and hundreds of practice questions to help you study.
Which license do I apply for? Residential or Unlimited?
You can get your Unlimited license on the first exam you take, and that will allow you to legally work on any roof in the state. The Residential license covers solely home roofing work for buildings with fewer than 8 units.
What’s included in the course?
3-day Residential or 4-day Unlimited class, complete study guide, PowerPoint notes and practice exams (yours to keep), plus First Try for unlimited practice at home, live in Rosemont or Zoom, coffee & snacks on us. And you’re covered by our Get Licensed Guarantee: come back free until you pass, and if you do your part and still aren’t licensed, your tuition back.
What happens after I pass?
After you pass, you apply for your Illinois roofing license with IDFPR, get your insurance in place, and take care of a couple of filings (a W-7 for an ITIN, for example). We’re with you end to end and walk you through every step, so nothing slows you down.
Then you’re ready to work — and when you’re ready to grow, we also help you unlock bigger insurance work through our public adjuster and Xactimate programs, plus end-to-end claims support.
