We work in the Illinois PA licensing process constantly and know every agency’s quirks. You get a credible, trusted partner handling the regulatory side, so nothing stalls between passing and earning.
You Passed the Exam. Now the Real Work Begins.
Getting your Illinois Public Adjuster license is more than passing a test. In addition to managing your business, you’ll be juggling fingerprinting appointments, endless paperwork, application rejections, forms, waiting periods and more.
That’s time you’re not spending on claims or contracting work. Outsource the frustration to CNTC and concentrate on growing your business the moment you walk out of the exam.
Two Ways In.
Choose the tier that matches how you plan to operate. Both can be bundled with your PA Exam Prep enrollment for additional savings.
What’s in the All-In Price.
We charge a fixed service fee for our work, and we collect the third-party fees on your behalf and pay each vendor. No markup on third-party fees.
How It Works.
Four steps from enrollment to licensed and earning. Most students are fully licensed 1–3 weeks after passing the exam.
Before You Enroll.
What happens if I don’t pass the exam?
We hold off on engaging third-party vendors (surety bonds, NIPR submissions, IL SOS LLC filing) until you confirm you’ve passed the exam. In the meantime we get organized, completing your intake forms, drafting your DOI-compliant contract templates, and lining everything up so we can move the moment you give the green light. If you do not pass, our service fee is refundable less a $50 admin fee. The only third-party fees that may have already been paid are the Pearson VUE exam and Live Scan fingerprinting, both non-refundable once issued. We’ll work with you on a path forward.
How long does the full process take?
Most students are fully licensed roughly 1–3 weeks after passing the Pearson VUE exam, assuming intake materials are submitted promptly. Live Scan fingerprints are taken by a licensed Illinois processor (we can recommend a trusted provider). The remaining items, NIPR review by the Illinois DOI and Secretary of State LLC processing, move much faster when handled by an experienced team that knows each agency’s quirks. We provide status updates at minimum every two weeks.
Can I start with just the Individual license?
Either works. Tier 01 (Individual) is right if you plan to practice as a sole practitioner under your personal license. Tier 02 (Individual + Entity) is built for contractors with existing businesses or anyone planning to operate a separate PA firm. You can always upgrade to entity licensing later, but bundling both at once saves significantly on the service fee.
What is a registered agent, and who serves as mine?
Every Illinois LLC must designate a registered agent, a physical Illinois address where legal service of process and state correspondence can be delivered during business hours. By default we use the business address you provide. This becomes public record on the IL Secretary of State website. If you’d prefer a separate or anonymous address, you can specify one on the intake form or use a third-party service (Northwest Registered Agent and Harbor Compliance are common options).
Are the contract templates ready to use?
The six templates (Personal/Residential, Commercial, and Catastrophic, in both individual and entity versions) are the same contract structure our experienced PAs use in the field. They are built to meet Illinois DOI standards under Section 1501 of the Illinois Insurance Code and Administrative Rule 3118. They are provided as starting frameworks, you remain solely responsible for reviewing, customizing, and executing them with claimants.
Can I pick which surety bond term I want?
Yes. At intake you choose 1-year ($350 per bond), 2-year ($613 per bond, save $87), or 3-year ($875 per bond, save $175, best value). Most students opt for the 3-year term to lock in pricing and reduce future renewal admin.
What does CNTC do versus what I have to do?
You do: pass the exam, accurately complete the intake form, sign the services authorization, and provide payment. We do: schedule your Pearson VUE exam, coordinate fingerprinting, place both surety bonds, file LLC formation with the IL Secretary of State, prepare and submit both NIPR license applications, upload contract templates to the NIPR Warehouse, and track everything through to license issuance.
Do I have to take the PA Exam Prep course through CNTC?
No, but it’s strongly recommended, and you get $75–$100 off the White Glove service fee when you bundle it at PA Exam Prep enrollment. Our 3-day prep course is designed to help you walk into the Pearson VUE exam confident and prepared.
Public Adjusters who use unlicensed third parties, including contractors and roofers, to generate leads are in violation of the Public Adjuster Law. Those contracts are void and unenforceable, and accepting payment can be a Class 4 felony. Getting properly licensed is the first and most important step, and it’s exactly what we do.
Bundle and Save.
Save on the White Glove service fee when you bundle at PA Exam Prep enrollment. Or add Xactimate® to handle claims end to end.
CNTC engages third-party vendors (surety bonds, NIPR, IL SOS) only after the student confirms they have passed the Public Adjuster examination. The service fee is refundable less a $50 administrative fee if the student does not pass. Pre-exam third-party fees (Pearson VUE exam fee, Live Scan fingerprinting) are non-refundable once paid to the vendor. Contract templates are provided as starting frameworks; the licensee is solely responsible for reviewing, customizing, and executing contracts used with claimants, and CNTC accepts no liability arising from their use. The applicant is solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of all information provided on intake forms and license applications. Bond approvals and license issuance are subject to underwriting and Illinois Department of Insurance review; CNTC does not guarantee approval or specific processing timelines. Unless otherwise specified on intake, the address you provide as your business address will also be used as the registered agent address for LLC formation, and will become public record.
